As we explored in Chapter 1, agentic AI systems represent the next step in the evolution of GenAI. This shift involves moving from centralized intelligence to distributed intelligence. Alongside this, stricter controls are gradually relaxed. This is made possible as the monitoring, governance, and steering of agentic systems become more common and reliable. Over time, a track record of confidence begins to emerge and gradually becomes the norm.
