Jailbreaking iPhone devices


There are various limitations on iOS operating systems. In order to overcome those limitations, there is a way to jailbreak a device. In this section, we are going to explore the way to jailbreak an iDevice.

Getting ready

To jailbreak a device using OS X, you will need to download Pangu jailbreak software. You can download the Pangu software at http://www.iphonehacks.com/download-pangu-jailbreak. You need to download the latest version of Pangu for OS X.

How to do it...

Perform the following steps to jailbreak your iOS device using the Pangu software:

  1. Connect your device to a computer using a USB cable.

  2. Now, in order to proceed with the jailbreak, you will need to disable your device tracking and iCloud account. To disable Find my iPhone, navigate to Settings | iCloud | Find my iPhone and turn it off.

  3. Now, you will need to disable the passcode and touch id from the phone; to do that, navigate to Settings | Touch ID & Passcode and disable it.

  4. Then, turn on the airplane...
