Compliance

AWS understands that many applications and industries have compliance needs. Many enterprises need to be in compliance with certain regulations in the space that enterprise operates in. Understanding this compliance need, AWS has worked with a number of compliance bodies to help them understand how RDS platform functions in order to meet or exceed specific compliance needs. Currently, the following are the regulatory compliance certifications that each database engine supports. If you have an application that needs to be in compliance, then you can run it on top of RDS and achieve compliance certification. Your security team will still have a role to play. They do not need to worry about the underlying infrastructure certification, rather, their focus would be more toward ensuring that application is secure and in compliance with the given regulation.
