Many customers are using computers running macOS X. Elcomsoft Phone Breaker is native Windows software. For this reason, some users run Elcomsoft Phone Breaker in a virtual machine (Windows box) on their Mac. However, there are certain limitations in this setup. One major disadvantage of running Elcomsoft Phone Breaker in a Windows box in a virtual machine is lack of speed. At the time of writing there are no drivers allowing for proper implementation of GPU acceleration in any virtual machine. As a result, attempting to brute-force passwords in a virtual machine will inevitably lead to a severe drop in performance. If your computer is equipped with a mid-range video card, by running password recovery in a virtual box you'll be making the recovery 20 to 50 times slower compared to running the same tool on a physical computer.
