Let us now examine some of the settings that you have to manage while working with forums. By default there is no need to modify the value of these settings but sometimes there will be a requirement to modify some of them.
In order to manage forum settings globally, you need to click on the link titled Global Forum Settings from the navigation panel located under the Forums section on the left side of the Control Panel page. You will see a page with five tabs as shown in the screenshot on the next page.
As you can see from the above screenshot these settings are related to threads and their management. It is extremely crucial to understand these settings so that you can manage forums very effectively as you gain more experience with the system. You should also note the fact that the changes made to the above settings will affect all active forums on the site. Let us now examine the settings under each tab in detail
