Managing Cookie and Anonymous Settings


You can manage cookie and anonymous user-related settings by selecting the link titled Cookie and Anonymous Settings located under the Membership section. Let us examine each of the settings in detail:

Roles Cookie Enabled

Community Server generates an HTTP cookie that is used to store an encrypted string containing user roles. This setting is enabled by default.

Track Anonymous Users

With the help of this setting, you can track the Internet Protocol (IP) address of anonymous users. Anonymous users are those users who are not signed into the site. As an administrator you need to keep a strict watch on these users so that you can check whether they are abusing the forum. Community Server records the IP address of each anonymous user, with which you can track their destination.

Roles Cookie Name
