While one of the biggest reasons for organizations to upgrade to BizTalk Server 2009 is platform modernization, don't overlook these three critical pieces that are incorporated into the product. In the previous two chapters we saw the new, powerful WCF SQL Server adapter and in the last chapter we looked at the new UDDI service registry that ships with BizTalk Server 2009. In this chapter, we investigated how the ESB Guidance 2.0 package enables a more service-oriented approach through standalone services, dynamic resolution, and itinerary processing.
These are all exciting technologies that warrant more of your attention and future examination. Each of these offerings could justify a book of their own, so my only goal was to introduce you to each and hopefully boost your interest in them.
In the following final chapter, we take a look at the future of Microsoft's SOA platform and where things are going with BizTalk Server.
