Making a connection to an ObjectGrid server is a little more work than using a local instance. We can do away with the programmatic BackingMap configuration, but we need to do a little more work to locate the grid.
First, we need an ObjectGrid client configuration file. The client configuration file should contain similar information to the ObjectGrid configuration file we passed to the server. ObjectGrid client and server processes both work with BackingMaps. In order to be used on the client, a BackingMap must be defined in the client configuration file. This means the BackingMaps that we defined in the ObjectGrid configuration file passed to the server must be defined on the client as well.
A client application uses the ObjectMap, or Entity APIs, to interact with a BackingMap on the client side if the "near cache" is enabled. The client-side BackingMap contains objects from all partitions and functions as a local cache. It is synchronized with the server...
