The main functionality of Untangle's Directory Connector is to allow Untangle NGFW to communicate with Active Directory and Radius servers. Untangle's Directory Connector can be used with Captive Portal to authenticate users or to provide user details (such as the username and the security group) to other Untangle applications such as Policy Manager, Reports, and Rules (that is, username matcher).
Note
Captive Portal must be installed on Untangle NGFW after Directory Connector to work properly. If you have installed Captive Portal first, just uninstall and reinstall it.
