Let's drive through the installation prerequisites for SQL Server 2008 R2 clustering on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition. We will cover the following prerequisites:

  • Hardware and software requirements

Hardware requirements

The following are the hardware requirements:

  • Intel Xeon Quad Core 3430 2.4GHz CPU

  • 4 GB ECC RDIMM DDR3 RAM @ 1333, 8 MB Shared L3 Cache

  • Intel S3420GPLC Server Board, 500 GB SATA HDD
