Configuration


In this section, we will learn how to configure alerts for Peer-to-Peer Replication. We will also learn how to remove a Peer Node and will add a new SQL Server 2005 instance as a new node. Because SQL Server 2005 doesn't support conflict detection, we have to disable conflict detection in the publication properties before adding SQL Server 2005 as a node.

Configuring alerts

So far we have learned how to install P2P Replication; let's now learn how to configure the alerts for the errors or conflicts, that is, conflict detection.

  1. 1. Right-click on the Replication folder and select Launch Replication Monitor, or call sqlmonitor.exe to launch the replication monitor.

  2. 2. In the warning tab, click on the Configure Alerts button; this will bring up the screen shown here:
