SharePoint heavily relies upon the use of GUIDs when identifying lists. List GUIDs are unique for each environment. So if we create a Custom List in a test environment, it will have a different value than a Custom List in a Production environment.
1. The first step in retrieving our List GUID is on the List Settings page. We can navigate to the settings by clicking on the List Settings button.
2. We need to determine what the GUID is for the list that we just created. We can accomplish this by right mouse clicking on the Title, description, and navigation link and click on Copy Shortcut.
3. Paste this value into an editor such as Notepad. We end up with a URL that looks something like the following: http://localhost:8080/sites/BizTalkLineOfBusiness/_layouts/ListGeneralSettings.aspx?List=%7B27E9BDCE%2D0D87%2D451C%2DB6C9%2D053C246517AE%7D
Our Encoded List GUID is the value after "?List="
4. Since this GUID value is still encoded, we want to decode it using a URL Decoder tool...
