Registering and configuring custom store, query, and control providers

After implementing custom providers, they need to be registered and configured with Windows Server AppFabric. Only the registered providers can be configured to be used by Windows Server AppFabric. Ideally, a custom provider's installation program should be responsible for registering and configuring the custom provider with Windows Server AppFabric.

In this recipe, we will learn about the following steps that are required to register and configure a custom provider with Windows Server AppFabric:

  2. 2. Create an Instance Store (physical database, and so on) and install binaries (containing custom provider implementations).

  3. 3. Add the Instance Provider details in the Web.Config file.

  4. 4. Add the Instance Store details in the Web.Config file.

  5. 5. Add the Instance Store Behavior in the relevant service configuration file.
