The MCMS publishing workflow is defined by the user roles of the rights groups assigned to each channel. Of the eight user roles, only authors, editors, and moderators actively participate in the publishing workflow.
The full workflow is experienced when a new posting is created in a channel that has been assigned members from all three user roles—authors, editors, and moderators:
The publishing workflow begins when an author creates a posting.
On completing the posting, the author submits it to an editor for approval.
The editor checks the work done by the author. If satisfied, the editor approves the posting. Otherwise, the editor can choose to decline the posting, in which case the posting will be assigned back to the author who would have to make the necessary amendments and submit the posting again.
