Behind every Microsoft Content Management Server is a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database, and the utility that links them together is the Database Configuration Application (DCA).
We take you behind the scenes for an in-depth look at what the DCA does. In addition, we demonstrate the use of the DCA to switch from one database to another.
Running the DCA will perform the following functions:
Tell MCMS which SQL Server and database in the network to use
Encode and store the ODBC Connection string, which includes the user name and password used for SQL authentication.
