MCMS supports two URL formats:
Hierarchical URLs
Unique ID-based URLs
By default, MCMS runs using the Hierarchical option. This means that you can request web pages using a familiar URL format similar to a directory structure. For example, if PageA
is located under ChannelA
, its URL is: http://hostname/ChannelA/PageA
.
These are friendly URLs. You get to see how objects are logically arranged, like a file directory. URLs in this format are easy to remember. They are best used for websites where you want people to remember or even guess the location of pages.
