Summary

It can be easy to fall into the lazy trap of simply taking an existing solution, making the changes to the necessary components, and overwriting those changes on the production servers. This chapter introduced you to strategies to version service artifacts and establish creative ways to build our services to accommodate changes. These strategies can be used in combination with the RESTful API versioning strategies discussed in Chapter 4, REST and JSON Support in BizTalk Server 2013, to ensure a high level of confidence that you know which components are deployed to which environment, and to ensure that you do not break existing interface versions that service consumers depend on.

In the next chapter, we start looking at tools and frameworks that you can leverage to build integration applications that closely follow SOA principles with ease.
