Preface

Creating new reports


By default, Service-Now provides the View/Run module to view the existing report or create new report. In this recipe, you will learn how to create new reports within the Service-Now environment.

Getting ready

For this recipe, all you need is an active Service-Now instance, valid credentials and a role (admin, report admin, or report Group).

How to do it...

  1. Open a web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer).

  2. Type the instance web address in the address bar.

  3. Log in to the Service-Now instance using the credentials.

  4. Type Report in the search bars (left-hand side).

  5. Now, Click on Create  View/Run module under report application.

  6. Now configure the report as follows.

  7. After click, you will able be able to view selected columns in section 3 as shown in following screenshot:

  8. If you click on the section 1 drop-down menu, you will able to view all the tables (system/custom) from which you can generate the desired report in either the list...
