Configuring Cisco UCS Emulator


Cisco UCSPE is available in the OVA or ZIP file formats. It is packaged on CentOS Linux (a Red Hat Enterprise Linux clone open source operating system). This virtual machine can run Cisco UCS platform emulation on a standard laptop or desktop computer meeting the minimum system requirements. The UCS Emulator application OVA or ZIP file is approximately 800 MB in size.

System requirements

The minimum system requirements for installing UCS Emulator are as follows:

  • 8 GHz single core CPU
  • 2 GB free RAM
  • 20 GB free disk space
  • Mozilla-compatible browser (Firefox or Chrome)
  • Java Runtime Environment 1.6

Hypervisor prerequisites

UCSPE can be installed on the following Type 1 and Type 2 hypervisor platforms:

  • VMware Player 4.0 and higher (Windows and Linux versions)
  • VMware Fusion 4.0 and higher for Apple macOS
  • VMware Workstation 7 and higher (Windows and Linux versions)
  • VMware vSphere ESXi 4.0 and higher
  • Microsoft Hyper-V Server
