Using Thold


Now that you have installed and configured the Thold plugin, let's move on and assign Thold permissions to a user and create some thresholds.

Assigning permissions and setting up an email address

First, you'll have to assign permission for Thold to a user. For alerting to work properly, you should also define an email address for the user.

Time for action - giving permission to a user

The following steps guide you through the process of adding Thold permissions to a user:

  1. Log on to Cacti as a user with administrative rights.
  2. Click the Console tab and go to Configuration | Users.
  3. Click the user who should have access to the plugin.
  4. Add an email address for the user in the new Email Address field:
  1. On the Permissions tab, tick the checkbox next toConfigure Threshold Templates, Configure Thresholds, Manage Notification Lists, and View Thresholds as seen in the following screenshot:
