Implementing Insider Preview


I recall years ago how Microsoft, through so-called beta testing, invited interested individuals to test products during the development phase before they became public release. Nowadays, with the introduction of Windows 10, the testing process has assumed another form by being structured into something known as the Windows Insider Program. In the same way as before, through the Windows Insider Program, the so-called enthusiast crowd has the option to test the Windows 10 release previews before they become public releases. Participation in the program is optional and it features Fast, Slow, and Release Preview rings. Unlike before, when aspects of Windows 10 are being tested, Microsoft requires feedback from Windows Insiders. While this book covers the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, as a Windows Insider, it may be the case that you are testing the latest developments of an incremental build that is expected to be released in April 2019.
