It will teach you to provide the paths to any external script or command using Cacti. Then it will take you through importing and managing new templates and also customizing them. Creating users and assigning permissions to them is the next step in this book. Towards the end, you will learn to take backups and restore the system.

Other User Management options


Now, we will focus on the other options of user management such as:

  • Delete

  • Copy

  • Enable

  • Disable

  • Batch Copy

These options can be found in the Choose an action drop-down list, as shown below.

Deleting users

Deleting a single user or several selected users is a straight-forward process within Cacti. Select the user or users from the User Management list and select Delete from the Choose an Action list and press go. The system will ask for confirmation. If you press Yes, the system will delete the accounts and any stored settings for the user(s).

Enabling and disabling users

Enabling and disabling users is similar to deleting users. Select the users you want to enable/disable from the User Management list, select Enable or Disable from the Choose an Action drop-down list and press go. The system will ask for confirmation before processing the request.
