Summary


In this chapter, we covered the different placement options for Untangle NGFW; we also took a look at how the traffic is moved between the kernel, the UVM, and the applications. In addition, we covered how to configure Untangle NGFW interfaces, and the high availability options.

After that, we saw how to configure the Untangle NGFW hostname, and change the default ports that the Untangle NGFW services runs at; then, we saw how to manage the Untangle NGFW functionality as a router, DNS, and DHCP server.

Next, we covered Untangle rules; we first learned about the rules concept and how it works, then we discussed multiple Untangle rules such as the port forward and NAT rules.

Eventually, we ended the chapter with a section that can help you diagnose your connectivity problems.
