Enabling LDAP synchronization

End user synchronization with active directory is a very effective way of importing end users, as well as information from their accounts such as their telephone information, location, and so on into the system.

How to do it...

To enable synchronization with active directory, perform the following:

  1. First navigate to the LDAP System page (System | LDAP | LDAP System).

  2. Check the box titled Enable Synchronization from LDAP Server.

  3. From the LDAP Server Type drop-down, select the appropriate type for the environment.

  4. From the LDAP Attribute for User ID drop-down, choose the appropriate attribute that will import as the end user ID:

  5. Click on Save.

How it works...

The checkbox must be set to enable LDAP synchronization on the Unified Communications Manager. Without this, users will not be synchronized with the system.
