Technology supports our daily life


Firstly, I call back customers and partners of important projects and issues. Instead of the usual fixed line phone, I pick up a new wireless headset and place it on my ear. With a simple mouse click, I open up my Microsoft Office Outlook and Lync as my personal unified communicator. In the past, at this point I would search for the contact from my Outlook Contacts list and dial the number on the keypad of my phone. As I often communicate with people internationally all over the world, I find myself mistyping once or twice before the call reaches the right person.

After I made my first phone call, I saw an incoming call from one of my important business partners, Mr. Thomas Schober from ACP Austria.

With another simple click, I am able to take the call from Thomas using my headset, and then my availability information is updated in my presence status as In a call, as shown in the following screenshot:
