Deleting unused maps


With the passage of time, some maps become unnecessary for various reasons. If you don't need some maps and data, you will be pleased to know that it is possible to remove them and, as a result, free some disk space for new projects.

There are several ways of removing unused data: with the QGIS Cloud plugin, from the QGIS Cloud web interface, and by using DB Manager or any other PostgreSQL/PostGIS client. They work differently and complement each other.

Deleting layers with DB Manager

As we mentioned previously, QGIS Cloud uses PostgreSQL/PostGIS to store spatial data. So, we can easily connect to the database with DB Manager or any other PostgreSQL client (for example, pgAdmin) and delete unused tables.

Assuming that a connection to the QGIS Cloud database is already created, here are the necessary steps that we need to perform in order to delete layers, using the DB Manager plugin:
