Using a code naming convention

The first recipes in the First Edition of this book did not use a structured code naming convention. This recipe will show you the value of adhering to a code naming scheme because it helps us to find the code we want to extend, as well as reminding us of the design of our program.

Getting ready

In this recipe, we will look at the Python module names from the first chapter of the First Edition of this book and compare them with better naming conventions.

How to do it…

In the first chapter of this book, we created our first Python GUI. We improved our GUI by incrementing the different code module names via sequential numbers.

While this is a typical way to code, it does not provide much meaning. When we write our Python code during development, it is very easy to increment numbers.
