Creating a pre-populated opportunity from an account record page using a Lightning Action

In this recipe, we will create a Lightning Action that is presented on an account record page that allows users to create opportunities with a pre-populated set of data.

Upon clicking the Lightning Action, the Close Date and the sales stage are pre-populated, which prevents users from having to select and enter this information to improve data quality and save time.

How to do it...

Carry out the following steps to create a pre-populated opportunity record using a Lightning Action from within the account record page:

  1. Click on the Setup gear icon, as shown in the following screenshot:
