Generating a filtered opportunity report link on an account record detail page


In this recipe, we will create a custom field that is displayed on an account record page that presents a report link hyperlink to a filtered opportunity report.

Upon clicking the report link, a filtered opportunity report is displayed in a new tab that shows the opportunities for the specific account record.

Getting ready

Carry out the following steps to create an opportunity report with a filter by account ID:

  1. Click on the Reports tab.
  2. Click on New Report, as shown in the following screenshot:
  1. In the resulting Create New Report page, select the Opportunities report type.
  2. Click on Create, as shown in the following screenshot:

  1. Click on Add | Field Filter for theFilters setting, as shown in the following screenshot:
  1. Choose the Account ID | equals field.
  2. Copy and paste a 15-character Account ID of an arbitrary account.
