Business analysis deals with rules and assumptions using an analytical way of thinking. The integration of information technologies with business processes requires an analysis of business processes, and often requires the re-engineering of these processes. A formal approach is needed to ensure an optimal level of process design and implementation.

Business models are used as abstractions of complex business realities and serve as a basis for business analysis. Under the concept of business analysis, we analyze existing (As-Is) and future (To-Be) business processes of the organization in order to improve the performance of the company.
