Understanding the core marketing entities

Just like we've seen in the previous applications discussed so far in this book, the Marketing application revolves around some shared entities, along with some specific entities that serve the marketing functionality.

We see Contacts and Accounts being shared pretty much across all applications. We also find Leads being shared with the Sales module, but they are enhanced with Lead Scoring capabilities. In addition, common areas are available in this application, just like in the other Dynamics 365 apps we've looked at in this book, including access to Accounts, Contacts, and Leads.
