Summary

MS SQL Server is a robust and powerful technology that also works as the basis for many other Microsoft products. Having a long history, SQL Server is a leading database management system today, with the ability to support different data formats; it is a powerful and secure tool.

In the next chapter, we will discuss a tool that comes as a part of the SQL Server offering, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). SSIS plays a significant role in integration technologies, particularly supporting the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pattern.
