The first task of a service architect within a process-driven architecture is to review the business process design to ensure that the design meets the principles laid out for process services. There should be no implementation details in the process. The process steps should be written in the business dialect, and there should be no splitting of the granularity of business steps due to the process designer's assumption of what services are available. This review of the process model is useful in bringing together the process analyst and the service designer to focus on one common architectural goal. The initial review of the business process that will be executed and the set of business services that will support that execution should be a collaborative process.
