Time for action – capturing a Quicktime movie


In addition to adding the movie file output, we will need to provide some GUI interaction to allow our App user to save the movie to a file of their choice once it has been captured.

  1. As with all of our Apps' instance variables, we need to add the program code for the @property in the file named BTSAppDelegate.h and to @synthesize the accessor in the file named BTSAppDelegate.m.

    // Use this property to capture a movie to disk

  2. In the file named BTSAppDelegate.m to create the movie file object, add the following program code in the method named applicationDidFinishLaunching:. Add it to the capture session, just prior to the line that starts the capture session.
