A DMZ (demilitarized zone) is a buffer zone between the internal network that contains sensitive data and hosts, and an outside unsecure network with potential danger. In a DMZ, a View Security Server forwards traffic to the View Connection Server, therefore hiding it and its entire depending infrastructure from the outside. We will discuss the details of the View Security Server in one of the next sections. The important point to be understood at this stage is that each View Security Server is paired with one View Connection Server. This means that if one is creating multiple DMZ's or load-balanced security servers, more View Connection Servers have to be created, resulting in addition of resources used for the management part of View. Most people will place a DMZ between the internal network and the Internet.
