Determining the requirements and limitations of CDP
When using CDP, there are both requirements and limitations to bear in mind. The following sections include a small list of both requirements and limitations.
Requirements
Some of the requirements of CDP include the following:
- CDP is included in the new Veeam Universal License, but you will require Enterprise Plus if you are using the legacy socket-based license.
- The VMware vSphere edition must be Standard or higher. Note that the VMware vSphere Essentials Kit editions are not supported.
- All hosts in a cluster must be of the same major version – 7.x or 6.x (6.5 or 6.7 – a combination of both is supported). Additionally, clusters managed by the vCenter server must be of the same major version.
- The target cluster must support the hardware version of the VMs from the source cluster.
