Manjaro Linux User Guide
By :
This chapter will explore Linux further by diving deeper into its filesystems (FSs). As we have already seen, it has features to control files and directories access and permissions (presented in Chapter 7). Devices, drivers, and communication means are also presented in the FS as files, so the access control features also transfer to them.
We will start here with all file type details, as they are independent of the FS. Then, we will explore the FS types and continue with the FS structure implemented in Manjaro. Our next stop will be external volumes, NTFS support, and automount. We will close the chapter by briefly reviewing snapshots and RAID.
