Options for deploying the Admin console


While the administration console for SCOM is usually installed as part of the management server deployment, it is not recommended to log on to the management server to perform administrative tasks. Therefore, deployment of the console to workstations or a Remote Desktop Services farm is highly recommended.

While mounting an ISO or accessing the source files and running the setup wizard is certainly one possible option, doing this repeatedly for multiple people can be inefficient.

This recipe will show you how to deploy the console from the command line so that you can use this method either within scripts or via a software deployment tool such as System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr).
