Monitoring your infrastructure running on Microsoft Azure is just as important as monitoring your on-premises infrastructure. In this section, we will get a high-level overview of available ways to get an insight in health, and performance and capacity of infrastructure components in Azure.
We want to know the status of Microsoft Azure services like Storage, Network, Active Directory, and Compute at the highest possible level.
Microsoft provides the so-called Service Dashboard or Health Dashboard. This is a web-based dashboard providing the actual health status of all Azure services. For each service, you can further zoom in to Azure datacenters. The dashboard shows four statuses: Normal Service Availability, Performance Degradation, Service Interruption, and Information.
