The chapter covered different storage troubleshooting techniques except fiber SANs. Learning these techniques is a good starting point to manage most storage troubleshooting issues. The focus is also on VMware vMA appliances to deploy troubleshooting procedures for storage. You have learned how to troubleshoot storage architecture, multipathing, and PSA issues. You have also learned how to use and modify claim rules for storage LUNs. Later in the chapter, I covered iSCSI troubleshooting and how the iSCSI sense codes are used by storage devices to inform about path down states. NFS and VMFS datastore troubleshooting was also covered step by step using different techniques. We will discuss troubleshooting vSphere host issues and vSphere high availability agent in the next chapters.
