Editing the virtual machine properties using vCloud Air


By using the vCloud Air portal, you can change the properties of a virtual machine by selecting the particular virtual machine that you wish to modify. Click on the Actions tab and select the appropriate parameter that you wish to change:

  • Change name and description: You can edit the name and description of a virtual machine either when it is powered on or off. Simply select Edit Name and Description from the Actions tab and provide new and suitable values, as required.

    Note

    Changing the name and description of a virtual machine does not require a reboot.

  • Edit resources: vCloud Air also allows you to add and remove resources from your virtual machines only when they are in a powered-off state. Simply select the Edit Resources from the Actions tab. This will bring up the following dialog, as shown:
