Overview of this book

Windows Azure Pack is an on-premises cloud solution by Microsoft, which can be leveraged by Organizations and Services providers for building an enterprise class cloud solution. WAP provides consistent experience to Microsoft Azure, along with capabilities such as multi-tenancy, high density, self-service, automated. WAP can be leveraged to provide both IaaS & PaaS Offerings to internal and external customers. In this book, we will learn about planning and deployment of Cloud Fabric for Windows Azure Pack, Azure Pack components, VM Clouds and IaaS offerings, PaaS Offering including WebSites & Service Bus, DBaaS offerings, Automation with SMA, and extending capabilities with third party products integration and tenant experience for all services.

Summary


With this chapter, we are ready with a Windows Azure Pack-based cloud solution having IaaS services ready for tenants. You learned about Windows Azure Pack VM Clouds architecture and steps for building SCVMM cloud for Windows Azure Pack. You learned about building IaaS offerings, also known as catalogues, for Windows and Linux operating systems. We also covered creating custom offerings using the VM Role authoring tool as well as using GRIT for easy import of gallery resources in Windows Azure Pack and SCVMM.

Accessing virtual machines using RDP and Console Connect along with Console Connect architecture and deployment was also covered.

In the next chapter, we will be assigning these services to tenants using Windows Azure Pack plans and subscriptions.
