DevOps in a nutshell

The term DevOps is a conjunction of development (software developers) and operations (manage and put software into production). Many IT organizations have started to adopt such a concept, but the question is how and why? Is it a job? Is it a process or a practice?

DevOps is development and operations compounded, which basically defines a methodology of software development. It describes practices that streamline the software delivery process. It is about raising communication and integration between developers, operators (including administrators), and quality assurance teams. The essence of the DevOps movement lies in leveraging the benefits of collaboration.
