Extending vRealize Operations with Management Packs and Plugins

vRealize Operations has always supported adapters for other sources, other than just vSphere. This gives it the ability to pull in metrics from other data and metric collectors such as HP Business Availability Center and Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), but also allows direct connections with other systems, such as storage arrays and network switches.

Since vRealize Operations 6.0, all adapters are now referred to as solutions, including the VMware vSphere adapter.

VMware supplies, out-of-the-box, a number of these solutions for other products, such as VMware vRealize Log Insight, VMware vRealize Business for Cloud, VMware vRealize Automation, and VMware vSAN.
