To ease the VM management, it is possible to register, in the OpenNebula database, every VM template that you plan to use often or that you need to distribute among your users.
The onetemplate
utility can be used to register a VM template in the database with the following command:
$ onetemplate create <file>
In order to list the registered templates, use the following command:
$ onetemplate list
In order to update it use, the following command:
$ onetemplate update <id>
Once a template is registered in the template repository, you can easily launch new instances by using the following command:
$ onetemplate instantiate <id> -m <number>
-m
could be used to launch more than one instance at a time.
In order to remove registered templates once they are not needed, use the following command:
$ onetemplate delete <id>
The onetemplate
command supports other common commands, such as chmod
, chown
, and chgrp
.
