ThinApp recommendations


There are a number of recommendations when working with ThinApp to ensure that the applications packaged with ThinApp function properly on the target computer.

Version of the operating system

In the event that the applications packaged with ThinApp will be executed on multiple versions of Windows, it is recommended you capture the application on the earliest version of Windows that is required. For example, if our environment has both Windows 7 and Windows 8 desktops, we would capture the application under a clean installation of Windows 7.

Note

Regardless of which Windows OS version is used to capture an application using ThinApp, once you have packaged it using ThinApp, you should test it on all OS versions that are present within your environment to ensure that it works as expected.

The computer that will be used to capture applications using ThinApp should be as clean as is possible, meaning that it should have only the base operating system...
