Deployment scenario for Hyper-V Replica


After taking a look at the introduction to Hyper-V Replica and understanding the basic definition of what Hyper-V Replica is, let's now take a look at the deployment scenario for the Hyper-V Replica feature.

There are four major deployment scenarios, which we will discuss next.

Head office and branch office

This is one of the most common usages of the Hyper-V Replica feature, where small-to-medium size organizations have a central datacenter located in their head offices, and also have one or more in branch offices. Due to their small- to medium-sized business scale, these types of organizations cannot afford expensive, high-availability solutions. While implementing the Hyper-V Replica feature, they can easily build a disaster recovery instance of their critical services by running in either the primary or secondary datacenter.
