Configuring the replication of a VM to a remote site


You can configure the replication of a VM to a datastore accessible to a remote site. To achieve this, you will need a vSphere Replication Server component at the remote site. For the remote site to be accessible, you will need to add that server as a target site. Read the Adding a remote site as a target section in this chapter for more information.

The following procedure will guide you through the steps required to configure the replication of a VM onto a remote site:

  1. Add a remote site vCenter as the target site. Read the Adding a remote site as a target section in this chapter for instructions.

  2. Right-click on the virtual machine from the inventory and navigate to the Configure Replication tab in All vSphere Replication Actions.

  3. Select the remote target site and click on Next.

  4. You will now have an option to manually select a VR Server to pass the replication traffic through or let VRMS do the selection. Make a selection and click on Next...
