Deploying App-V client updates through Group Policy


This recipe will show you how to apply a hotfix to the App-V installer and deploy it to your clients with Group Policy.

App-V updates are released as cumulative hotfixes for specific issues. Special care should be taken to thoroughly test updates before they are released into your production environment as a misconfiguration can easily render the App-V client inoperable.

Getting ready

It is assumed that you have installed the App-V client on a Windows 8.1 client.

In addition, you should download the latest App-V hotfix; the latest information on App-V hotfixes can be found on the App-V team blog at http://blogs.technet.com/b/appv/. This example will use App-V 5 SP3 Hotfix 2, which is listed under Microsoft KB3060458.
