MID Servers are located in enterprise private networks; these facilitate communication between different infrastructure components. The number of MID Servers required depends on the size of the infrastructure.
The next step is not make sure we have the MID Server available for our service mapping. That service mapping is putting one more prerequisites on the MID Server, compared to disocvery–service mapping requires .NET Framework 3.5 on the MID Server. Discovery requires .NET framework 4.0, so you will need them both on the MID Servers to be able to run Service Mapping.
